  • The Christian Action Repair Team (CART) worker will participate in an ongoing ministry to serve needy member of the church and community by doing construction work and home repairs free of charge.

    Responsibilities/Duties

    1. Work with other CART Workers to do repairs and construction-related work for the needy in the church: elderly, disabled, low-income, etc.
    2. Obtain materials necessary to do the jobs, either through donations of supplies and money or from church budget as available. In some cases, the person may already have the supplies, but not be able to afford the labor cost.
    3. Discuss potential CART Worker jobs and develop a schedule with other CART Workers.
    4. Pray for the people to whom CART ministers and for the resources to continue the ministry.

    • 1.      Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: as many hours as one is able
    • 2.      Participating in meetings/training: as needed
  • Community Care Intake Team members share the love of Christ by meeting in person with First Baptist Church members/attenders and Isanti County residents seeking financial assistance in times of need or crisis, listening to their story, and completing a Community Care Financial Request form.

    Responsibilities/Duties

    • 1.      Meet in person with up to five requestors one afternoon a month, 1:30pm-4pm, with one other intake member
    • 2.      One intake member will ask questions and take notes, while the other will enter the requestor’s information into a form on the computer
    • 3.      Listen and ask questions as each person shares their story and the reason for their current hardship
    • 4.      Offer encouragement and prayer
    • 5.      Those interested in this volunteer ministry position must fill out an application and complete a background check. Volunteers may have training prior to serving

     

    Anticipated Time Commitments

    • 1.      2.5 hours a month
    • 2.      Attend 1-2 hour committee meetings as scheduled (once a quarter or less)

     

  • This team was created to bring an overview of the church decorating landscape. Each member uses their gifts to bring a critical eye to the areas that do not leave a good impression for our guests as their primary role, looking for areas or ways to leave a good impression to all guests who come through our church doors as well as making the outside appearance of the church property attractive to our community and all guests.

    Responsibilities/Duties

    •         A critical eye to make the team aware of areas that our outdated, in need of repair, showing signs of clutter, or eye sores that need to be removed.
    •         Have a keen sense for what welcomes, attracts, and makes guests feel at home. Creating an atmosphere that makes guests want to be part of the church family.
    •         A gift for helping choose colors, designs, and the overall look or appeal for spaces. Understanding the need to stay true to the overall color scheme and design throughout the church building.
    •         Ability to work with a team, finding a role that best serves the team, and supporting others.

  • The purpose of the GO Team is to bring Jesus to all people by joining in the ministry of missionaries and blessing them with our care, support, and prayer. The Missions Coordinator, along with GO Team members, will lead the effort to maintain a comprehensive missions ministry in the church and is responsible for exploring mission opportunities, keeping the church informed regarding potential and ongoing missions involvement, and serving as a liaison between the church and missionaries.

    Responsibilities/Duties

    1. Act as liaison with missionaries and organizations the church supports.
    2. Research, locate, validate, and follow up on mission projects, opportunities, needs within the local community as well as home and foreign mission fields.
    3. Organize the church’s efforts in supporting missions, including forming the Missions budget.
    4. Educate the church regarding missions, including planning a yearly Missions emphasis.
    5. Lead monthly GO Team meetings.

    • 1.      Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: 5-8 hours/month, more during Missions emphases
    • 2.      Participating in meetings/training: 2-hour monthly meetings

    •         Follow directions provided by Serving Team Chair/Co-Chair with job assignments.
    •         Job assignments could include one or more of the following:
    • o   food preparation
    • o   room set up/take down
    • o   serving table preparations
    • o   table decorations
    • o   refill serving platters, water pitchers, coffee carafes
    • o   clean up of church kitchen after event has ended

    •         Time commitment is variable depending on size and type of event with average of 2–3 hours/event.
