Baptism

We believe that baptism is the immersion of a believer in water into the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  This act of submission and obedience should closely follow the conscious decision to follow Jesus, as it reflects an public declaration of an inward change of heart and faith.  Adults and students who have committed themselves to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and are able to articulate this commitment to a pastor or leader at First Baptist are encouraged to follow Jesus' example by being immersed in baptism.

There are three regularly scheduled baptism services that occur throughout the year: Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday night before Thanksgiving), Palm Sunday (Sunday before Easter), and mid-summer at the church picnic.  However, we want to encourage you to contact the church any time during the year if you feel the Holy Spirit inviting you to be baptized, we will work with you to make that happen.
