Helping people know, love, and become like Jesus
Visiting a church for the first time can be a challenging experience. At First Baptist, our goal is to make your first time with us, and all subsequent visits, as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. With that in mind, we would like to outline exactly what you can expect to happen should we have the honor of having you as our guest.
We have a spacious parking lot (southeast corner of campus) that will give you many choices in regards to parking. However, as our guest, we want to invite you to park in our guest parking spots which are located closest to the building. If you are someone who has special needs, we invite you to park in in our handicapped parking areas. Also, if it is necessary due to health or weather, please feel free to use the car port to drop off your family or friends before you park.
The main entrance to our church building is easily identifiable. It is located at the north end of our parking lot and has a spacious car port that covers the entrance. When you or your family and friends come to the doors, they will be warmly greeted by a door host. That person is there to welcome you and to direct you to our Welcome Center where there will be someone who can assist you with any needs or questions you might have.
The hosts at our Welcome Center are there to serve you. They will be able to answer any questions you might have and can help you find where to go. Certain areas of the building like the worship center, restrooms, children’s and youth rooms, may be difficult to find on your own. Our Welcome Center Hosts will make sure that finding the rooms you are looking for is a stress-free experience. If you have any questions or needs that we can help you with, please feel free to talk to someone at the Welcome Center.
At First Baptist, we value people and relationships very highly. The Common Ground Café, located on the main level, is open before and after our services and is a great place to connect with others over a cup of coffee and something to snack on. We invite you to enjoy the free coffee and donuts and to hang out and connect with others in the café.
We have three worship services on Sunday mornings. Our Traditional service begins at 8:30am and our Contemporary services are at 9:45am and 11:10am. Each service lasts for approximately one hour and includes inspiring worship and relevant and practical teaching from the Bible. As you enter either of our services you will be greeted by an usher who will hand you a program and help you find a seat. During our services, if you have any needs or questions, there will be an usher close to the door who will be able to assist you. We do take an offering during our services but as our guest, you are free to participate at whatever level you feel comfortable. Our primary hope is that you will be able to participate in the service we have planned and that you will have a life-changing experience with God. Nursery (birth-age 3) is offered at our 8:30am service. Nursery and Children’s Church (age 4-1st grade) are offered during our 9:45am and 11:10am services.
From 9:45-10:45am, we offer nursery and Sunday school for all ages. Information on all Sunday morning programming is available at the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings.
When our services come to an end, we want to invite you to hang around and meet people to the degree that you feel comfortable. The Welcome Center and Café are open following the services and our pastors like to hang out in those areas to connect with people and to answer any questions that you might have. This time following the service is sometimes the most enjoyable time of the morning because of how casual it is and how easy it is to connect with others. We hope you will feel comfortable hanging out after the service and enjoying this highly relational time of the day.
