About Us

At First Baptist, we believe God has given us the mission of helping people know, love, and become like Jesus. This mission is what all of our Sunday worship services, weekly programs, and special events are focused on. Because those terms might mean different things to different people, we want to share a little more about what this means at our church.

Know-Helping people know Jesus means to help them come into a personal relationship with Him. We believe that God loves every person so much that He sent His Son into the world to die on a cross to pay the penalty for our sins. This proves God's infinite love for every person and His desire to forgive them, have a relationship with them, and give them the gift of eternal life.

Love-Helping people love Jesus means helping them love like Jesus did. Jesus spent His life loving people. He cared about their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. At First Baptist, we believe the best way for us to love others is to use our gifts, talents, and passions to serve God. It is our church's desire to help people identify their God-given design and encourage them to connect with opportunities to serve others in Jesus' name.

Become-Helping people become like Jesus means helping them develop His character and priorities in their lives. More than anything else, God's goal for our lives is to transform us to become more like His son Jesus. Our church strives to provide environments and opportunities that God can use to bring about this inner change in our lives.
